Reflections of a Sojourner
As we travel along the path toward our heavenly home, sometimes we just need to stop & reflect on what's around us.

God Is So Good

Some days start off just like all the others. You wake up, start the day, and before you know it ... the day is gone and it's over. Every now and then, if you listen closely, God will whisper His blessings in your ear and suddenly there's an "ah-ha" moment. That is simply a split second when the light bulb goes on & you see God's hand at work. Sometimes it's mercy, or forgiveness or sometimes it's His plan in action.

Recently, we have experienced a series of troubling events. Financially, business has been lean, health issues, and always personality adjustments within the family. But, through it all, God has guided us, provided for our needs, and taught us valuable lessons through the conflicts. The most valuable lesson we have learned -- FAITH. Our Heavenly Father is there for us all. We don't have to do anything more than simply call out to Him, seek His will, and then live each day with the knowledge that He has it all under control and will take care of us. NOW THAT'S AN AWESOME GOD! The Creator of the entire universe cares about us & our daily struggles.

GOD IS SOOOO GOOD!

What my Lord taught me today ...
photo

"And God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day." Gen 1:5

I've heard it preached somewhere that God's design for our days didn't begin at 6am., but actually began in the darkness and became light. I've always wondered why that is. I grew up thinking that night/sleep came after a day's work ... not before. This night before day thing didn't seem to go along with my Southern raising. Is there more to the  meaning of night/day than just when the alarm clock goes off?

The past few days have presented considerable challenges & trials. It's been a very dark place. But looking at the sunrise, I am reminded that God turns night into day. The darkness I've been facing isn't the 'end', but only the beginning, (which soons becomes the past). There is still alot of day ahead of me ... a new page in the book, so to speak.  "...weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning." Psalm 30:5

As you face the trials today, remember that God's Word said ... "And it came to pass ...". The trials will pass and with God's strength & comfort, we will make it through and become better servants because if it.

May the Lord bless you as you travel & keep you in His loving arms.

The old saying that no one can control the weather is still as true today as ever before. Dispite man's fabulous technology ... phone company still can't find a system that withstand wind, rain, or clear weather for that matter. But, we're back on track after several frustrating days.

I haven't decided if it pays to keep up with the news. It could be very easy to get caught up in the political propaganda and allow the "fear mongers" to keep us looking over our shoulders in fear & distrust; but if viewed through the filter of God's Word, I think we should keep a wary eye on what's going on around us. We live in the 2ed greatest time in the history of the world. (the 1st being the period when Christ walked as man). We are literally seeing the prophecies of the Bible come to pass. As a sojourner, it's just the road map to tell us that we're headed in the foretold direction.

But, where the rubber meets the road ... there are some things going on out there that sadden me to tears. As you probably know by now, it's becoming very popular to bash Christians these days, (verbally & literally). People are dying for telling others about Christ ... and I'm not talking about 3rd world or socialist countries. It's happening right here in America. An elderly woman was beaten to death a few weeks ago for telling a homosexual man about Jesus. Will he be prosecuted? It doesn't look like it at this point. I think he's claiming "self-defense" or something.

Will this become more common? I'm afraid so. As we travel closer to the end of our path to heaven, we will be facing things that we, as American, have never had to face before.

Jesus said, "And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved." Matthew 10:22

Take heart dear friends, He knows what we are going through and will be with us through it all. Stand tall - we are children of The Most High God and He will watch over us. He has given us our map and has sent us a guide & companion  for the trip. We will be fine ... but just make sure that others along the way can see we are children of the King and not tools of the devil.

May the Lord clear the path ahead and bless you with a safe journey.

As you travel along life's path, do you ever catch yourself wondering 'What's it all about?'? I think it is designed into each of us to question our existence so that we will actively seek our Creator. Most children who have been adopted or have lived without absent parents have a hunger inside them to 'know' their missing parents. It's a longing to know where they've come from ... a desire to know about their roots. It's hard to envision a real future without a connection to your past.

Even though we have earthly parents, God our Father has given us a love letter so we can learn about Him. Through this letter we can learn about His love for us, His hopes for our lives, and His promise to take us home to be with Him one day.

"But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him." ~1Corinthians 2:9

Now that's a promise of HOPE.

As we travel along this path, let's stop together for a moment to look around and reflect on our journey and the hope that God our Father has given to us. I hope you like the new changes to S2H and would like to hear from you.

May the Lord bless you.
